Bunch of crazy awesome people running this morning!

I am blogging from Albany, Georgia (home of the Snickers Marathon Energy Bar marathon), here for the next three days for a painting workshop. I figure in case the whole running thing doesn’t work out, I need some backup hobbies.

Flipped through the September (it’s not even August yet?) Runner’s World at DFW today and saw the new version of my running shoes.  I’m on my fourth pair of Nike Air Pegasus 26’s and they feature the 27’s as the Best Runner’s Buy for the Cushioned-Neutral category.  They also review the new LunarGlide 2’s. I am totally not fast enough to wear these shoes but they look awesome. There is a big section about running with your dog and they feature some shoes by Granite Gear that I will have to show Wolfgang when I get back.

Is this the same Nike Pegasus model that was introduced when I was a kid? It is almost as old as the Onitsuka Tiger.

  2. Yes but the new version has Zoom Air technology in the heel!

    Kevin,

Yes its the same model, but they didn’t have it when you were a kid. You ran in the one’s Bowerman made on his waffle iron.

Tigers were great shoes- no arch, no padding of any kind. Just nylon sewn onto a skinny rubber sole.

This computer machine is pretty neat.

Sure is. I just bought a new TRS-80 at Radio Shack. Difficult to get on the internet though.

TRS-80..are those ASICS? Now there would be a great survey…”what was a better shoe the Onitsuka Tiger or the Nike Cortez”

  7.  Robert says:

TRS-80 or the ‘Trash-80″ was one of the first home computers.

I’d vote for the Cortez. Remember the “Addidas Country”? White leather with green stripes. Each shoe weighed about 5 pounds.

  8.  Kevin Hoffman says:

I thought Pong was the first computer. Addidas Countrys were only worn by hippies and Lance Link Secret Chimp.

  9.  Robert says:

Lance Link! Ha Ha. The people who made that show were on some serious drugs.
