The Houston marathon and half marathon has switched over to the lottery system for entry. Registration opens tomorrow.  The winners will be chosen August 17^th (hopefully they will take into consideration my sub-5 hour marathon record and just go ahead and register me for an elite corral). There will be 11,000 half marathoners and 11,000 full marathoners and the race is January 30^th.  If you really, really want to run this race you can donate $350 to one of their charities for guaranteed entry.  And if you’re obsessed with running with and meeting elite runners than you can buy your way in with a VIP package, I would not judge you.
